Diane Patrick
Boone County Auditor
Biography
Diane Patrick
Boone County Auditor
Diane Patrick’s road to becoming a county auditor was a unique one. She spent several years as a stay-at-home mom but took an interest in elections and became a precinct election official. Because of her experience and interest in the process, when the elections position in the Auditor’s office became available, she was a natural fit for the job. She took on other duties in the office and became former auditor Phil Meier’s deputy. When Phil decided to retire, he encouraged Diane to run to replace him.
Diane grew up in Newton, Iowa. She attended Cornell College and Southwest Baptist University. She’s had a variety of “careers” through the years because her husband Dave, who recently retired, worked for Fareway and his job has moved them around the state and afforded her many different opportunities.
Diane and Dave have 2 daughters (Rileigh and Kayley) and 5 grandchildren (Ruby, Oliver, Fen, William, and Rook) and family is a huge priority. Since one daughter and 3 grandkids live in England, Diane and Dave try to visit a few times a year. As a former caterer, Diane loves to spend her free time in the kitchen cooking and baking and also decorates cakes for friends and family. Her co-workers at the courthouse don’t mind helping her keep her skills up.
